The Inverness Garden Club of West Marin, located on the San Francisco Bay Area's beautiful Point Reyes peninsula, was founded in 1934 by 19 women sharing a general interest in gardening. Today, the club has over 100 members from West Marin, the Bay Area, and beyond.

NGC is proud of its college scholarship program which offers financial aid to students majoring in fields of study related to horticulture and the environment. The Allen Garden Club Helen M. Logan Scholarship is available through the Foundation for Allen Schools to college bound Allen High School seniors who are planning on majoring in a horticulture related field such as botany, floriculture, forestry, environmental science, etc.

The Gardens were established in 1994, by members of the Spring Hill Garden Club. Spring Hill Garden Club uses a portion of the 4.5 acres as a plant nursery, to raise funds for creating and maintaining the Botanical Gardens. These Gardens have now expanded into 21 themed areas which comprise the Nature Coast Botanical Gardens.
